What is Hijingo?

Bingo, rebuilt as a production. You sit at a table with an electronic ticket while a host runs the game over a light and laser show, with rounds themed around different prizes. It is the most passive activity in this set and the most theatrical.

One site, in Shoreditch. Closed on Mondays.

How does it work?

You book a seat at a specific show rather than an open slot, which makes this the least flexible booking here. Miss your show time and there is no next available table.

Shows appear to run roughly two hours apart based on the slot spacing, though the actual length is not published. The venue does not publish how long a show runs, so allow more time than you expect.

Because everyone faces the front and the host controls the pace, it works for a group where people do not know each other yet, and works badly for a group that wants to talk.

How much does it cost?

Priced by show, not by duration, and the spread between shows on the same day is wide.

What that means in practice

  • £24 on a Saturday is the highest entry price of any venue we cover. It is also avoidable: the 12:30 and 22:30 shows on the same day are £16.
  • Tuesday and Sunday are a flat £16 whenever you go, which makes them the easy answer for a group on a budget.
  • The prime evening slots carry the premium on Wednesday and Friday, and it is the 18:00 and 19:00 shows that cost most, not the late ones.
  • For twelve people, a Saturday evening show is £288 against £192 for the same group at 22:30.

The number above is not the real cost. £16 to £24 buys game entry only. Bottomless brunch and other packages exist but their prices are not published anywhere we could find, so the actual spend for a night here is higher than any figure on this page. Ask for the package price before you commit a group.

What is the food and drink like?

Food and drink are a package proposition here rather than an add-on, with bottomless brunch among the options. Prices are not published. This is the biggest gap in our research on this venue and the reason the headline price understates the evening.

We have not yet captured the package prices, so ask for them when you book.

How do you get there?

Shoreditch. Old Street on the Northern line and Liverpool Street on the Central, Circle and mainline services both work, with Shoreditch High Street on the Overground as a third option. Good for a group coming from the City or the east.

We have not timed the walk from the station or confirmed step-free access, so check with the venue if either matters.

How do you book?

Online, choosing a specific show time. Because seats are sold against shows rather than open slots, popular Saturday shows go early and there is no flexibility on arrival.

The venue does not publish a maximum group size, deposit or cancellation terms. Ask for all three before you commit a group.

Is it worth it?

Yes on a Tuesday or a Sunday, harder to justify on a Saturday night. The production is genuinely good and it solves a problem the other venues here do not: everyone can play at once, nobody waits their turn, and physical ability is irrelevant. But £24 for game entry alone, before a package that nobody will quote you in advance, makes Saturday the most expensive way to spend an evening in this set. Go midweek and it is one of the better value nights out in Shoreditch.

Right for

  • Groups where physical activity would exclude someone
  • Teams who do not know each other yet, since the host does the work
  • Tuesday and Sunday, at a flat £16 with no premium slots
  • Larger groups, because everyone plays at once rather than in rotation
  • Anyone who wants a show rather than a sport

Wrong for

  • Saturday evenings at £24 a head before food or drink
  • Groups who want to talk, since the host runs the room
  • Mondays, when it is closed
  • Anyone who needs a total cost in advance, given the unpublished packages
  • People who want to be doing something with their hands for two hours
